Kate Rohde functional health coach online

Kate’s personal health journey began unknowingly when she started experiencing anxiety from childhood, and then high levels of stress whilst pursuing a career in the Fashion Industry for over 20 years, which all manifested as various different symptoms. From taking a holistic approach, having coaching and seeing a nutritionist herself, her healing journey began.

Kate believes we are all capable of exuding good health, and that we need to have a realistic and achievable health journey that is right for each of us. Her goal is to motivate, guide and empower you, whilst supporting and helping you maintain long-term habits which lead to a more fulfilling, calmer and healthier life.

Here we get to know Kate a bit better, and not just about her work!

What led you to train/re-train as a health coach??

My health journey began unknowingly at a very young age from hidden grief, and growing up it showed up as many different physical symptoms. Working in a corporate environment for so long also took a toll on my overall health and I was very close to burn out. I experienced a lot of anxiety and stress.

I’ve always had an interest and been curious about natural health, so I began seeing both a nutritionist and a coach, and I noticed a huge difference in my overall health and wellbeing, and that positive shifts started to happen in all areas of my life.

Fast forward to when the pandemic hit and losing all of my freelance work, I saw this as an opportunity to re-train as a Health Coach. My past roles as a manager always filled me with joy to be able to help people and guide them in their careers so becoming a Health Coach enables me to continue to help people but in a different way and in an industry I so love.

What is your passion/who do you LOVE to work with/what is it you love to be able to teach midlife women?

My passion is to guide people in midlife to live a life that is calmer and more balanced. I want us to stop normalising being busy, stressed and exhausted, and normalise being calm, rested and to feel naturally energised too. This is all achievable if we begin to build lasting habits and rituals, and together we can absolutely do that tailor making a plan that is at the right pace for you.

If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?

To not keep anything bottled up, talk about what’s on your mind

What is the one thing you do for yourself that is non-negotiable for your health?

Eat healthily, move every day & meditation. (Also my morning routine see below)

What does your morning routine look like?

I naturally wake around 6am, then I mouthwash with sesame oil, brush my teeth & tongue scrape (an Ayurvedic ritual), make my kids school lunches then sit with a big cup of sancha green tea. I might do some yoga or rebounding then will shower. I then dry body brush every morning before showering.

Do you have a daily supplement routine? If so, what is it?

  1. Omega-3 oil

  2. Vitamin D-3

  3. Reishi powder sometimes at night

  4. Ashwaganda

What brings you joy/how do you take time out for you (that isn’t spending time with friends and family – something ‘selfish’ that you love to do for you)?

It’s the simple things . . . Reading health & wellness books, going to a yoga class, having a bath with my favourite oils, shopping in charity shops, having a cup of tea on my own without being interrupted!!

What’s your biggest rant/grip about the area you work in?

Overload of information over social media/media about what you should or shouldn’t do/eat. One week a certain food is good for you the next we’re being told not to eat it!

What are you reading at the moment?

A few at the moment …

What tune always gets you dancing?

‘Call the shots’ by Girls Aloud or ‘Golden’ by Harry Styles

Who would play you in a film or boxset?

Oooh, I would love Emily Blunt to!

Thich Nhat Hanh Peace is Every Step reading book

You wouldn’t know it but …

I have worked as a clothing designer in the Fashion Industry for 25+ years!
