Personalised nutrition and functional medicine support for digestive health, with an understanding of the connection between your gut, brain and wider health.
Gut symptoms can affect much more than digestion. Bloating, pain, unpredictable bowel habits or reflux can influence what you eat, where you go and how comfortable and confident you feel day to day.
For some people, digestive symptoms also seem to change during periods of stress or anxiety. Others have spent years removing foods, trying different diets or being told they have IBS without really understanding why their symptoms keep returning.
We help you understand your whole health picture, looking at your digestive symptoms alongside your nutrition, stress, mood, lifestyle and wider health.
What can gut health problems feel like?
Digestive symptoms can vary considerably from one person to another. They may be persistent or come and go, and sometimes seemingly unrelated symptoms occur alongside them.
You might experience:
-
Bloating or abdominal distension
-
Abdominal pain, discomfort or cramping
-
Constipation
-
Loose stools or diarrhoea
-
Alternating constipation and diarrhoea
-
Excess wind or belching
-
Reflux or heartburn
-
Nausea or feeling full quickly
-
Changes in appetite
-
Feeling uncomfortable after eating
-
Feeling that particular foods trigger symptoms
-
Fatigue or brain fog alongside digestive symptoms
-
Anxiety about eating or being away from a toilet
-
An increasingly restricted diet because you're trying to avoid symptoms
You don't need to experience all of these symptoms, and digestive problems can change over time. Understanding the pattern of your symptoms and what else is happening with your health can help us build a clearer picture.

Why might I be experiencing digestive symptoms?
Your gut doesn't exist in isolation.
There isn't always one explanation for digestive symptoms. How your digestive system is functioning can be influenced by your diet, stress, medications, medical history and other aspects of your health.
When we work with someone experiencing digestive problems, some of the areas we may consider include:
DIGESTIVE FUNCTION
How food moves through and is broken down in the digestive system can be relevant to symptoms such as bloating, reflux, constipation, diarrhoea and feeling uncomfortably full after eating.
IBS & BOWEL PATTERNS
IBS can involve abdominal pain alongside changes in bowel habits, including constipation, diarrhoea or a combination of both. Understanding your individual symptom pattern helps us decide what may be useful to explore.
THE GUT MICROBIOME & SIBO
Where appropriate, we may consider the gut microbiome and whether factors such as small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) could be relevant to your symptoms.
THE GUT-BRAIN AXIS
Your gut and brain communicate in both directions through the gut–brain axis. This helps explain why digestive symptoms and stress, anxiety or changes in mood can sometimes occur alongside one another.
NUTRITION & FOOD
What you eat matters, but our aim isn't simply to keep removing foods. We'll look at your overall diet, eating patterns, nutritional adequacy and any foods you believe are triggering symptoms.
STRESS & YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM
Stress can influence digestive function and symptoms, while persistent digestive problems can themselves become a significant source of stress and anxiety.
YOUR WIDER HEALTH
Hormonal changes, medication, previous illness and diagnosed digestive or other health conditions may also need to be considered as part of your wider health picture.
Our role isn't to assume which of these applies to you. It's to understand your individual health picture and work out where it makes sense to focus.

How we can support you
Understand your whole health picture
Your first session gives us time to explore your digestive symptoms and history alongside your nutrition, bowel patterns, lifestyle, stress, mood, sleep, medications and other aspects of your health that may be relevant.
Create a personalised plan
We'll bring that information together into clear, practical recommendations. Depending on your individual needs, this may include nutrition, lifestyle, supplements and functional testing where appropriate.
Work together over time
Most clients work with us over three months, giving us time to review how you're getting on, discuss what's changing and adapt your recommendations as we learn more about you. Longer-term support is available where needed.
