Personalised nutrition and functional medicine support to help you understand what may be affecting your sleep.
Poor sleep rarely stays in the bedroom. It can affect your mood, energy, concentration, appetite and ability to cope with everyday stress.
You may struggle to fall asleep, wake repeatedly during the night, find yourself wide awake at 3am, or sleep for hours but still wake feeling exhausted.
For many women, sleep can also change significantly during midlife, when hormones, stress, mood and other aspects of health may all be contributing at the same time.
We help you look beyond your bedtime routine to understand your wider health picture and the factors that may be influencing your sleep.
What can poor sleep and insomnia feel like?
Sleep problems don't always mean being unable to fall asleep.
You may fall asleep easily but wake repeatedly, wake much earlier than you'd like, or sleep through the night without ever feeling properly rested.
You might experience:
-
Difficulty falling asleep or lying awake with a busy mind
-
Waking repeatedly during the night
-
Waking very early and being unable to get back to sleep
-
Feeling tired despite having had enough hours in bed
-
Racing thoughts or worrying at bedtime
-
Feeling “wired but tired”
-
Restlessness or physical tension
-
Daytime fatigue and low energy
-
Brain fog, poor concentration or forgetfulness
-
Feeling more anxious, irritable or emotionally sensitive
-
Worrying about whether you'll sleep, which can make bedtime itself stressful
Sometimes the worry about not sleeping becomes part of the problem itself, particularly when you've been struggling with sleep for a long time.

Why might I be struggling to sleep?
Sleep doesn't exist in isolation.
There isn't always one explanation for poor sleep. What happens during the night can be influenced by what's happening during the day, as well as your hormones, nutrition, physical health, emotional wellbeing and environment.
When we work with someone experiencing sleep problems or insomnia, some of the areas we may consider include:
STRESS & YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM
If you're carrying high levels of stress through the day, it can be difficult to switch off simply because it's bedtime. Feeling physically tired but mentally alert is a common experience.
HORMONES
Perimenopause and menopause can coincide with changes in sleep, including night waking, temperature changes and difficulty getting back to sleep.
BLOOD SUGAR & NUTRITION
What and when you eat, alcohol and caffeine intake, and whether you're getting the nutrients you need can all be relevant when we're building your wider health picture.
MOOD & ANXIETY
Sleep and mental health can influence one another. Anxiety, low mood and persistent worrying can make sleep more difficult, while poor sleep can make emotional regulation and coping with stress harder.
GUT HEALTH
Digestive symptoms can interfere with sleep directly, while the relationship between the gut, brain and nervous system may also be relevant to your wider health picture.
MEDICATION & HEALTH CONDITONS
Some medications, pain, thyroid problems and other health conditions can affect sleep, so we take your medical history and existing care into account too.
Our role isn't to assume which of these applies to you. It's to understand your individual health picture and work out where it makes sense to focus.

Create a personalised plan
We'll bring that information together into clear, practical recommendations. Depending on your individual needs, this may include nutrition, lifestyle, supplements and functional testing where appropriate.
Work together over time
Most clients work with us over three months, giving us time to review how you're getting on, discuss what's changing and adapt your recommendations as we learn more about you. Longer-term support is available where needed.
