Personalised nutrition and functional medicine support for stress and burnout, with a particular understanding of the pressures that can build during midlife.
Stress is part of life, but when the demands on you keep building without enough opportunity to recover, it can begin to affect how you feel both physically and emotionally.
You may feel exhausted but unable to switch off, find that you're not coping with things as well as you used to, or notice changes in your sleep, mood, concentration or digestion.
For many women, midlife can bring several pressures at once - work, family, caring responsibilities and changing hormones - which can make an already demanding period of life feel even harder.
We help you look at your wider health picture and understand the factors that may be contributing to how you feel.
What can stress and burnout feel like?
Stress and burnout can look different from one person to another.
Sometimes it's an obvious sense of overwhelm; at other times, it's a gradual feeling that your energy, motivation and ability to cope aren't what they used to be.
You might experience:
-
Feeling physically or emotionally exhausted
-
Feeling overwhelmed or unable to cope with everyday demands
-
Difficulty switching off or relaxing
-
Feeling tired but wired
-
Poor sleep or waking feeling unrefreshed
-
Brain fog, forgetfulness or difficulty concentrating
-
Irritability or feeling more emotionally reactive
-
Anxiety, worry or feeling constantly on edge
-
Low mood or loss of motivation
-
Headaches, muscle tension or jaw clenching
-
Changes in appetite or eating habits
-
Digestive symptoms
-
Relying more heavily on caffeine or alcohol to get through the day or unwind
-
Feeling detached from work, relationships or things you would normally enjoy
You don't need to experience all of these symptoms. Stress can build gradually, and sometimes it's only when your usual ways of coping stop working that you realise how much you've been carrying.

Why might I be feeling this way?
Stress doesn't exist in isolation.
There isn't always one explanation for feeling exhausted, overwhelmed or unable to cope. Your current circumstances matter, but so can your sleep, nutrition, hormones, physical health and emotional wellbeing.
When we work with someone experiencing ongoing stress or burnout, some of the areas we may consider include:
YOUR CURRENT STRESS LOAD
Work, family, relationships, caring responsibilities, financial pressures and the mental load of managing everyday life can accumulate, particularly when there is little opportunity for rest or recovery.
SLEEP
Poor sleep can make it harder to cope with stress, while ongoing stress can make it more difficult to switch off and sleep well, creating a cycle that can be difficult to break.
HORMONES & MIDLIFE
Perimenopause and menopause can coincide with changes in sleep, mood, energy and how you experience stress, so hormones may be one part of the wider picture.
NUTRITION & BLOOD SUGAR
Irregular meals, changes in appetite and not getting the nutrition you need can all be relevant when we're looking at energy, concentration and how you feel throughout the day.
MOOD & ANXIETY
Stress, anxiety and low mood can overlap. Understanding when your symptoms began and what else was happening at the time can help us build a clearer picture.
YOUR PHYSICAL HEALTH
Thyroid health, nutrient status, digestive problems, pain, medication and other health conditions may also need to be considered, particularly when fatigue or other physical symptoms are prominent.
Our role isn't to assume which of these applies to you. It's to understand your individual health picture and work out where it makes sense to focus.

How we can support you
Understand your whole health picture
Your first session gives us time to explore what's been happening, alongside your health history, nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, stress, mood, hormones and other factors that may be relevant to how you're feeling.
Create a personalised plan
We'll bring that information together into clear, practical recommendations. Depending on your individual needs, this may include nutrition, lifestyle, supplements and functional testing where appropriate.
Work together over time
Most clients work with us over three months, giving us time to review how you're getting on, discuss what's changing and adapt your recommendations as we learn more about you. Longer-term support is available where needed.
