Sophie Nielsen
MSc - BANT Registered Nutritional Therapist

I’m Sophie, a registered Nutritional Therapist specialising in mental health and the gut–brain connection. I work primarily with women who feel out of balance — physically, emotionally, or cognitively — helping them uncover the root causes of persistent symptoms through evidence-based nutrition. I also support mums of children with ADHD or suspected neurodiversity through my programme, NeuroNourished Kids, a gut-health and nutrition framework designed to nourish and support a child’s developing brain.
I originally studied Psychology and Physiology at university, but after several years in finance — with long hours, constant travel, and poor sleep — I found myself exhausted and disconnected from my own wellbeing. Moving abroad gave me the space and courage to take the leap back into science and health, leading me to retrain with an MSc in Personalised Nutrition
Along the way, I faced my own health challenges — including obstetric cholestasis and the subsequent removal of my gallbladder, as well as navigating eczema and food sensitivities with my youngest daughter — which deepened my understanding of gut health, hormones, and women’s physiology. My passion for the gut–brain axis also led me to publish a systematic review on the link between the gut microbiome and Parkinson’s Disease in Brain Health (September 2021).
Now, based in the UK with my family, I work with clients who want to feel more energised, balanced, and free of digestive discomfort. I specialise in chronic gut conditions such as IBS, SIBO, and reflux, as well as supporting mental health challenges including anxiety, low mood and depression. My approach focuses on uncovering the “why” behind digestive, hormonal, and cognitive symptoms, offering practical, achievable nutrition and lifestyle strategies to restore balance from the inside out.

If something here has resonated, the best next step is a conversation.
