Chronic & Complex Health Conditions
MCAS, Histamine, EDS, Mould, Chronic Fatigue, Trauma & PTSD

Living with long-term, overlapping health issues can feel draining and confusing—especially when you’ve seen multiple professionals and still don’t have clear answers. At Urban Wellness, we specialise in working with midlife women who are navigating chronic or complex conditions that affect both their physical and mental health.

Our focus is on understanding the whole picture: how your symptoms, history, hormones, gut, immune system, nervous system and lived experience all connect. Rather than treating each issue in isolation, we use functional medicine and personalised nutrition to explore what may be driving your ongoing symptoms and how we can gently bring your body back towards balance.

Who is this for?

Thrive Health Package

This Thrive Health Package is designed for women who:

  • Have multiple or long-standing symptoms that haven’t resolved with conventional care

  • Live with conditions such as chronic fatigue, ongoing pain, MCAS and histamine issues, chronic gut problems, autoimmune patterns or post‑viral syndromes

  • May have a complex health alongside anxiety, depression, trauma, disordered eating or a history of eating disorders

  • Feel “stuck” in their health journey and want a joined‑up, root‑cause approach rather than another quick fix

You don’t need a neat diagnosis to work with us. Many of our clients come with a stack of test results, mixed labels, or the sense that something has been missed. This is where functional medicine can really help.

This package offers a higher level of contact and accountability for those needing closer support.

About Nicola

I’m Nicola Shubrook, founder of Urban Wellness and the lead practitioner for our Chronic & Complex Health Conditions Thrive Package. With over 16 years’ experience as a registered nutritional therapist and certified functional medicine practitioner, I specialise in the intersection between long-term physical symptoms, mental health, trauma and midlife women’s wellbeing.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with many women who have seen multiple specialists, collected numerous diagnoses (or none at all), and still felt unheard. My approach is rooted in compassion, curiosity and collaboration. I take time to understand your full story—medical, emotional and lived experience—so we can make sense of your symptoms together and build a plan that not only genuinely fits your life, but brings about healing and true change to your health.

Drawing on training in nutrition, functional medicine and mind–body approaches, I’m particularly experienced in supporting complex cases involving emotional trauma, chronic gut issues, histamine and MCAS challenges, hormone-related problems, and eating disorders. My aim is always the same: to help you feel less overwhelmed, more understood, and more in control of your health.

If you’re living with chronic or complex conditions and feel ready for a different kind of support, then do get in touch and let’s talk further.

01

In-depth Assessment

During our first session, we take time to understand your unique health history story, current symptoms and overall wellbeing. We’ll explore key systems that need support and help identify possible root causes for your mental health challenges.  At the end, you’ll have your first personalised action steps to start making meaningful progress.

02

Personalised programme

Within 48-hours of each session, you’ll receive a personalised plan with clear, achievable steps – covering nutrition, lifestyle, supplement advice (if required) and optional functional testing.  We make changes gradually so you’ll never feel overwhelmed, and you can start taking positive action straight away.

03

Accountability and on-going support

You’re never alone in your journey.  In-between sessions, you can message us with questions or updates – so you feel supported, accountable and confident to make lasting change.

04

Follow-up sessions

We’ll meet regularly to review your progress, update your plan, and celebrate every step forward.  Health is a journey – and sometimes, as we peel back the layers, new things can emerge that we can address together.  You plan will always adapt as your needs change, ensuring you feel supported with every layer.  you’re taking towards better mental health.

05

Functional testing

Functional testing can be a valuable tool in your health journey, helping us explore underlying factors that may impact your mental wellbeing. We’ll always begin with a thorough assessment before recommending any tests, so you never spend money unnecessarily.  Functional testing is optional, and you’ll have the choice to proceed only if, and when, it’s genuinely relevant to your programme.

06

Supplements

Supplements can play an important role, especially at the beginning of your journey, by helping to target nutritional gaps and support your progress.  Any recommendations will be tailored for you – based on your needs and goals, not a generic protocol.  For added value, we offer a 10% discount on all supplements we recommend as part of your plan.

07

Letters or reports for your medical team

To support joined‑up, collaborative care and informed decision‑making, I will write to your GP, psychiatrist or other members of your medical team as and when required so that we are all the asme page, and have your best interests front and centre.
